Abstract

Cerebellitеs are inflammatory disorders with acute course and childhood onset, in rare occasions they can be subacute or chronic. The acute cerebellitis are diagnosed in cases with acute onset of impaired coordination (ataxia of stance and gait, nystagmus, tremor, dysarthria and hypotonia) as well as extracerebellar features like fever, headache and vomitting.
Lhermitte-Duclos disease is a rare pathologic condition consisting of a dysplastic gangliocytoma of the cerebellum. The clinical presentation of this disease is not specific, it is usually related to intracranial pressure, cerebellar dysfunction, and cranial nerve deficits. Modern neuroimaging as CT and MRT contributes to a correct diagnosis and pre- and postoperative evaluation. We report a 7-year-old girl who was diagnosed with cerebelitis and LDD was discussed in the differential diagnosis plan.
