Abstract

Melkerrson-Rosenthal syndrome is a rare disorder of unknown etiology and is characterized by the triad of peripheral facial nerve palsy, geographic tongue, and orofacial edema.
The presence of at least two of the listed factors are necessary conditions for making a clinical diagnosis. The etiology of the disease is unknown. We present a case of a 35-year-old female patient with recurrent facial palsies and geographic tongue, as well as a review of the literature. The disease is difficult to diagnose and treat, and knowledge of it is essential for clinical practice.
